Embracing technology: building intercultural awareness using digital applications

Overview:

Building intercultural awareness helps students to successfully integrate into a globalised world of work. Reaching and engaging the diverse student population is always a challenge for international educators. This e-poster will demonstrate the added value of innovative technologies, such as smartphone and web-based applications, that empower the less active student population and help university staff to target a larger and more diverse audience. Participants will have the opportunity to play with an app and find out how technology could help students develop their intercultural skills wherever they are.

Learning objectives:

Participants will:

* recognise the benefits of implementing digital solutions in intercultural training activities for both students and university staff

* learn how to use technology for students’ intercultural skills development

* become acquainted with digital applications and how to incorporate them in their strategic planning.
